Reviewed : The BFM-1000 Baby Food Maker And Bottle Warmer By Cuisinart

Okay… this is the real deal right here, fellow mommies. You all knew it… Cuisinart is the best there is to buy when it comes to kitchen appliances. And when it comes to food processors for newborns, Cuisinart is no exception to the rule. This may not be the most babyish looking processor there is to be had on the market, but it’s definitely one of the better ones. It’s not for no reason that this blender with its integrated bottle warmer gets almost five out of five stars from well over 150 customers on Amazon. It’s not the cheapest one out there. There are plenty of food preparation appliances that are lower priced than this one. However… almost nothing can so much as hold a candle to Cuisinart’s latest master piece. This is the best food maker for babies on the market for the money.

cuisinart1So let’s have a look at all of the lovely features. As you would expect, the BFM-1000 is able to chop and puree all the ingredients you put in there. But next to that, it also has a steaming function. Not every processor has this, so this is where it starts to distinguish itself from the rest. But it’s the built in bottle warmer that really takes the cake. How many of the food appliances in the USA have these? Not too many. You will only find this on the higher priced ones. And don’t be put off by the higher than average price. Because you’re getting your money’s worth with this machine, alright.

Look… you can either go with a so so processor that only gets average ratings for about sixty dollars… or you can go with this one, which costs twice the money. The fact of the matter is that the cheaper ones are often low grade pieces of you know what, which break down easily after only a few months of usage. But Cuisinart knows better. Cuisinart’s BFM model may lack in the design department, in the sense that the design is not baby-like (it’s actually a pretty decent design when you ignore that it’s for babies). But it more than makes up for this in the functionality as well as the quality department. Everything from Cuisinart is built to last. You just can’t beat that.

cuisinart2One of the greatest examples of the impressive build quality of this baby blender, is the fact that it makes use of the Blade Lock System, of which Cuisinart is so proud that they have decided to patent it. The competition can’t make use of it, so this gives them an edge. Maybe not a fair edge, since they’re using patents… but, oh well. So what the blade lock system does it it keeps the blades in place when you are pouring foods or liquids in there. That way, you make less of a mess and it makes this blender all the more user friendly. And that’s just one of those things that’s typical of Cuisinart. They’ve got these subtle features that give them a slight, but still significant edge over their competition.

Want another example of this appliance’s awesomeness? The steam blade makes it so that when you are steaming the baby’s food, the steam is evenly distributed across the blender. This way, you get quicker results. It’s much more efficient than having a steamer that has all the steam at the top and non at the bottom. When steam is unevenly distributes, it can leave some parts of the food cold and others too hot. It’s sorta like when you defrost something in the microwave and it gets warm at the edges but it remains frozen at the center. I always hate that. But the Cuisinart steaming mechanism guarantees an even distribution.

cuisinart3As I’m sure you’ve already guessed, this food processor is powered by an extremely powerful motor that lets you chop and puree with surgical precision. A powerful motor also helps with the steam distribution, which pretty much guarantees nothing but the highest quality baby food.

If you’re still not convinced… you also get a spatula, an integrated measuring cup (so you can never lose it!), a bottle adapter ring and a recipe booklet just in case you don’t have any inspiration for your first baby meal. Since the good people from Cuisinart are so incredibly certain of their own quality, it comes with an 18 month warranty. So by the time your warranty has expired, your newborn will already be well on his or her way into toddlerhood!
